Nathan Prisbrey receives Eagle Scout award from BSA

Nathan Prisbrey of Troop 936 receives Scouting's highest award

Nathan Prisbrey recently received the Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America. He is the son of Shon and Carrie Prisbrey and a member of Troop 936 in Livermore.

He will be entering his senior year at Livermore High School and is interested in software engineering, robotics, websites, machine learning and Internet of Things devices. He is a member of the GravitechX robotics team at LHS and this coming year will co-lead the team. He has been involved in LHS Leadership, service, sports and clubs.

Previously Nathan has been the webmaster, and the assistant senior patrol leader in his troop. He currently works at Sandia National Lab in Livermore as the website manager for the Engine Combustion Network.

His Life Plans include attending Brigham Young University and studying Computer Science.

He plans to serve a 2-year service mission for the LDS church and would like to get a job at Google.

His Eagle Project was at FertleGroundWorks garden behind Asbury Methodist Church in Livermore, Nathan excavated the dirt, filled in and prepared paver base around three existing garden boxes in preparation for the laying of pavers. The pavers were subsequently laid by his troop. This area is now available to be used by handicapped patrons wishing to do service at the gardens.
