‘No Shave November’ Will Benefit ‘Shop With A Cop’ Program

Officers will be taking part in 'No Shave November' to benefit Livermore kids at Christmas.

LIVERMORE, CA — Police officers in Livermore are giving their razors a break during the month of November all in the name of charity. For the next four weeks, if a cop donates $75, they will be able to grow a mustache, goatee, or beard. The money collected will be given to the annual Shop with a Cop program, which benefits Livermore youth in need.

Each year, Shop with a Cop is held on a Saturday morning in early December. Students in need who are selected to be part of the program are picked up at home by officers and treated to breakfast and shopping.

“LPD and LVJUSD are asking the community to help raise funds for the program with an overall goal of raising $5,000 which will allow us to ‘adopt’ more than thirty Livermore students in need to participate,” police said in a statement. “Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go directly to the program and the students.”
