North Vasco Road Reopens After Fatal Collision: CHP

A two-vehicle collision shut down all lanes of North Vasco Road in northeast Livermore early Thursday morning.

LIVERMORE, CA — A fatal collision involving two vehicles shut down North Vasco Road in Livermore early Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol Dublin Area reported.

At 3:42 a.m., CHP received a report of a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of North Vasco Road north of Dalton Avenue, near Brushy Peak Regional Preserve.

A passenger in a Honda Civic was driving southbound on Vasco Road, and the driver of a Honda Accord allowed his car to travel into oncoming traffic, CHP Officer Tyler Hahn told Patch. The Civic passenger died on scene, while the second passenger was transported to Eden Medical Center with major injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, Hahn said.

Lanes on North Vasco Road were blocked in both directions before reopening at around 5:40 a.m.
