Outdoor Retailer Marmot To Open At Livermore Outlets
The apparel and equipment retailer — which targets mountaineers, outdoor enthusiasts and extreme alpinists — will officially open Saturday.
LIVERMORE, CA — The first U.S.-based Marmot outlet is coming to Livermore's San Francisco Premium Outlets, it was announced Thursday. The retailer, known for its apparel and equipment for mountaineers, outdoor enthusiasts and extreme alpinists, will officially open at the center on Saturday.
Marmot has local roots. The idea for the company began in 1971 when Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley — then students at the UC Santa Cruz — were traveling in Alaska’s Juneau Icefield on a school glaciology project. Their story took many exciting twists and turns (mostly in higher elevations!) over the next few years, but by spring of 1974 Marmot the company was born.
“We are thrilled to add Bay Area-based Marmot to our property as we know their products truly resonate with the shoppers at San Francisco Premium Outlets,” said Marissa Durazzo, director of business development at the center. “This exclusive location offers even another reason to visit our already impressive list of retailers and benefit from even more savings.”
