Over 2000 Guns, Knives, Other Weapons Seized From Livermore Man: Police
Police say they found rifles, machine gun parts, equipment to manufacture ghost guns, and more inside a Livermore home and storage unit.
LIVERMORE, CA — Dublin police say they seized thousands of illegal guns, rifles, knives, brass knuckles, and other deadly weapons from Dublin Knives, a business on Dublin Boulevard, and the owner’s personal home and storage facility in Livermore. The owner of the business, 51-year-old Deepak Chopra (no relation to the alternative medicine celebrity), was taken into custody, Dublin Police Services said Friday.
On Friday, Aug. 11, Dublin Police Services began investigating the distribution of illegal weapons from Dublin Knives, a knife store on 6500 Dublin Boulevard, according to a department news release. Detectives obtained a search warrant and say they located more than 2000 illegal switchblade knives, approximately 40 rifles and handguns, body armor, four cane swords, 245 sets of brass knuckles, and other weapons.
Authorities obtained a followup search warrant at Chopra’s home in Livermore, where they say they found complete rifles, 25 assault rifle-style lower receivers, over 50 high-capacity magazines, .30-caliber machine gun parts, and an assault rifle-style personally manufactured firearms jig used to manufacture ghost guns.

On Thursday, Dublin police discovered a storage unit belonging to Chopra located in Livermore. Detectives found 80 additional firearms, including 50 rifles, approximately 30 handguns, and .30 caliber fully automatic machine guns.
