LIVERMORE, CA — Resident Glenn Stewart shared this lovely photo of a 'Golden Rain' tree growing between the Yin Yin Restaurant and Panama Red Coffee Company.
"Falling blossoms may or may not resemble 'golden rain', but the fallen blossoms often form an attractive golden carpet under the tree," Stewart said. "Flowers give way to interesting, brown, papery seed capsules which somewhat resemble Chinese lanterns."
The Koelreuteria paniculata are native to eastern Asia.
