Pleasanton Chef, Family Escape Livermore Fire Thanks To Teens
Friends have created a fundraiser to help the family as they recover from the devastating loss.

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore family may have lost most of their possessions when their house caught fire early Saturday morning but they escaped with their lives and their pets thanks to two quick-thinking teenage girls. Patrick Tripp, a chef at BottleTaps in Pleasanton, and his family were asleep when the blaze broke out in the 300 block of Scott Street at about 2:20 a.m.
Sarah Coulson, 19, and Gabby Smith, 17, saw the fire as they headed home from their jobs at Campo di Bocce, according to friends of the Tripp family. The young women stopped, called 911 and helped the family evacuate.
Tripp told ABC 7 News, "They saved our lives, they saved our pets' lives. They put their own lives in danger. I don't know if I would have even done that myself."
