“Thank you to all the officers! I was watching people get pulled over left and right while taking my daughter to school. Incredibly distasteful how these people drive in school zones! I’m sure they’ll enjoy the double fine and maybe people will start to think twice,” one commenter wrote.

“Too bad it [wasn’t] all day! The commuters going through need reinforcement!” wrote another.

“I heard you today, and I couldn’t be more happy! Thank you. The intersection where I’ve lived for 15 yrs if like bay lands raceway. Every single day. In all that time I’ve never ever had a day where I could sit and enjoy my backyard due to the Exhausts, burnouts, horn honking, doing donuts, I hope there are a lot more days like this,” wrote a third.

This is a recurring regional operation in the East Bay. In June, officers issued 308 citations during an operation in Hayward, according to the Hayward Police Department. In May, more than 400 were issued in Fremont, according to the Fremont Police Department.
