Police Participating In ‘Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over’ Campaign
Police warn that impaired driving includes prescription drugs and marijuana.

LIVERMORE, CA — Police are warning Livermore drivers to “drive sober or get pulled over” as part of a high-visibility national enforcement campaign kicking off later this month. Starting Aug. 17, the Livermore Police Department will be deploying DUI saturation patrols during the 18-day enforcement period, which runs through the Labor Day holiday weekend.
The campaign is an effort to reduce the number of drug and alcohol-related collisions, deaths and injuries in the East Bay. Police warn that impaired driving includes prescription drugs and marijuana.
“According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 10,497 people were killed in alcohol-involved crashes, or one person every 50 minutes,” police said in a statement.
