Residents Warned to Avoid Livermore Arroyos
BREAKING: Police said the storms have made the water treacherous.

LIVERMORE, CA — Police ask residents to avoid the local arroyos, which have all become swollen from the recent storms. The creeks can quickly become hazardous, police officials said.
“Please refrain from playing in the arroyos to include boating, rafting and wading,” police said via social media. “It is important to realize that during a major storm, the waters can become treacherous.”
In Santa Cruz County, fire officials issued a stern reminder to residents to use extreme caution around all creeks, rivers, drainage systems and any other bodies of water after conducting two water rescues during the last Bay Area storms.

Firefighters found a woman stuck in the Branciforte Creek in Santa Cruz, which was about 3 feet deep with slow moving water. Firefighters were able to throw a rope to the woman and rescue swimmers entered the water to assist her, according to fire officials. Two minors were hospitalized earlier this month after fire crews rescued them from a lake near Watsonville.
The rain in Tri-Valley is expected to continue through the weekend, according to officials with the national weather service.
