Runaway Truck Sparked Livermore Grass Fire Sunday

Fire crews quickly knocked down the flames and contained the blaze to one acre.

LIVERMORE, CA — A truck sparked a small vegetation fire near Interstate 580 and North Flynn Road in Livermore Sunday afternoon. Alameda County, Cal Fire and Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department crews and the California Highway Patrol all responded to investigate. All six passengers escaped, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.

After extinguishing the flames, firefighters used a bulldozer to drag the charred truck, which rolled down the hill into the dry brush, back to the highway.

The blaze burned less than one acre. No one was injured during the fire. No other information is available.
