Sandia Labs Help Impact Future STEM Leaders

The goal of this event was to continue to inspire passion for STEM by exposing students to an organizational setting.

From Sandia National Laboratories: A team of gracious volunteers from Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore recently volunteered their time to participate in STEM Day at the Laboratory, hosted by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s diversity and inclusion outreach initiatives.

The Sandia/California team had the opportunity to motivate and inspire more than 100 eighth-graders from across the San Joaquin Valley to become excited about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and a possible future STEM career. Additionally, the Sandians were able to share some of the phenomenal work they are executing at Sandia.

STEM Day at the Laboratory was established in 2015 to emphasize the importance of expanding access to high-quality STEM and computer science education, particularly among historically underserved youth.
