Sara Persaud Returns To Valley Dance Theatre As Instructor

Persaud has trained in classical ballet from the age of four.

From Valley Dance Theatre: Valley Dance Theatre, the Tri-Valley’s ballet company, announces that Valley Dance Theatre alumna, Sara Persaud, has joined its staff as a ballet instructor. She will teach Ballet I and Ballet II when fall classes begin August 20 and will substitute for other teachers when needed.

Persaud has trained in classical ballet from the age of four. When her family moved to California the summer if 2008, she began studying at Valley Dance Theatre. While there, she performed in many feature roles in the company’s Spring Rep production and in The Nutcracker where she portrayed the Sugar Plum Fairy. After high school, she went on to receive her BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Dance from California State University Long Beach.

A performing member with local dance company, ConDanza, since 2015, Persaud has also danced for Push Dance Company, LV Dance Collective, and Emotion Arts, all based in San Francisco, Calif.

Persaud has taught dance for four years and is a certified Body Arts and Science Pilates instructor. She is currently working on her master’s degree in nonprofit management from Cal State University Northridge.

“Sara tells us that it was her time at Valley Dance Theatre that ultimately solidified her love of dance,” says Valley Dance Theatre Artistic Director Betsy Hausburg. “She is looking forward teaching with us this season and we are thrilled to welcome her back to the place and people that had such a dramatic impact on her life.”
