LIVERMORE, CA — School started Monday in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District and parents and students are seeing some changes due to summer construction.

In particular, Livermore High School is readying for construction of its new Athletic Complex. As a result, there are two new locations for student parking on the north end of the football field near the feed store and diagonal parking on School Street.

In addition to the new lots, there is now a sidewalk spanning the length of School Street and there is campus access through the gates along the street. However, School Street is closed as a drop-off and pick-up location for students.

"This is being done as a safety precaution to protect our student drivers and to also protect our students who walk or bike to school," campus officials said.

Officials also reminded families that the LHS faculty and St. Michaels parking lots are not to be used as student parking or as drop-off or pick-up locations.
