“Scouting for Food” helps Food Banks during Pandemic
Scouts of the Twin Valley District (Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, Sunol) helped collect 5,570 pounds of food and raised $4,737 for the annual Scouting for Food drive, surpassing the goal of $3,500 for the district.
This was accomplished in spite on not being able to do the normal ways of collections. Scouts were not able to do door hangers or go door-to-door for collections, so they had to be a little more creative. Through a combination of email, personal texts and social media, the Scouts and leaders reached out to friends and neighbors. The response was positive and very generous.

The Council partnered with 6 food banks and three sponsors including Alameda County Industries, Recycle Smart and Republic Services. Three Way Trucking and NorCal Moving provided trucks for many of the districts outside of Twin Valley.
Special Thanks to all of the parent drivers who stepped up to help on the day of the event.
