Smoke Near Livermore Due To Carnegie State Park Brush Fire
The blaze reported after 3 p.m. is burning in Carnegie State Park.
LIVERMORE, CA — A wildland blaze dubbed the Hollow Fire broke out Wednesday afternoon near Livermore and has charred 283 acres as of 7:45 p.m. and is 50 percent contained, according to Cal Fire. The blaze reported after 3 p.m. is burning on West Corral Hollow Road in Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area and had caused firefighters some difficulties due to the terrain, according to the agency.
At one point Cal Fire reported the brusher had consumed 500 acres, but the agency was able to get better mapping by Wednesday evening and as a result readjusted estimates on the fire area. Alameda County Fire is assisting in the efforts at the park, and additional air and ground resources have responded.
Firefighters will remain on the lines throughout the night and tomorrow, Cal Fire reported. There are no immediate reports of structure threats or major roadway closures.
