The women and children who come to Shepherd’s Gate are seeking to start a new life. They are able shop for free at the thrift store for clothes for job interviews and school as well as items to furnish a new place to live after graduation. Proceeds from the thrift store directly support the women and children at Shepherd’s Gate by providing care, safety, education and encouragement as they rebuild their lives. Join the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department for our 2026 Fire Safety Expo on Saturday, October 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the LPFD Training Tower in Pleasanton.
This free community event is about more than watching firefighters in action. It is an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and take simple steps to help your household be better prepared.
Community members will have the opportunity to:
📌Watch live firefighter demonstrations
📌Participate in fire extinguisher training
📌Meet local CERT members and learn more about community preparedness
📌Sign up for emergency notification systems and other preparedness resources
📌Bring the kids out for our obstacle course and family friendly activities
