These Scholarships Are Open To Tri-Valley Seniors

Considering higher education or apprenticeship programs? Check these scholarships out.

TRI-VALLEY, CA — As the next chapter looms on the horizon for local high school seniors, two scholarship programs have announced they're accepting applications.

Simon Youth Foundation (Tri-Valley)

Graduating Tri-Valley high school seniors are eligible for a $1,500 scholarship from the Simon Youth Foundation, which offers scholarships to students near Simon Malls, Mills and Premium Outlets centers. In this case, the scholarship is offered to students near the the San Francisco Premium Outlets and Stoneridge Shopping Center.

The money may be applied toward tuition.

The scholarships are part of Simon Supports Education, which takes donations from shoppers and employees, according to a press release about the scholarship. The Simon Youth Foundation has awarded more than $18 million in scholarships to more than 5,000 students over the past 20 years.

Applications are accepted here through Feb. 19 for the Simon Youth Foundation scholarship.

Pedrozzi Foundation (Livermore)

Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District students considering higher education may apply to the 2020 Pedrozzi Scholarship, which will award 100 scholarships of at least $1,000 per year, for up to four years, according to a press release from the organization.

Students considering trades may also apply for Richard E. Zufan Tool Scholarships, which awards money to apprentices with the Associated Builders and Contractors programs in Northern California.

The Rotary Club of Livermore will fund its Ed Rundstrom Vocational Scholarship through the Pedrozzi Foundation, according to a press release.

The Pedrozzi Foundation was founded by Livermore businessman Mario Pedrozzi, who gifted his estate to the community.
