Livermore's Own Tom Petty Donates Blood 100 Times
Donate 100 times and you have given more than 12 gallons of blood.

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore man recently donated his 100th pint of blood, according to a report in the East Bay Times. Tri-Valley resident and retired Chevron employee Tom Petty, 55, told the Times he has donated to the Red Cross 100 times since he started donating blood in the late 1990s. Petty reportedly donates during the Asbury United Methodist Church drives in Livermore.
Petty and his wife Joanne, retired Chevron employee, aren’t just devoted donors— they have also hosted 120 blood drives in Livermore. In the wake of a brutal cold and flu season, the Red Cross recently put out an urgent call for healthy donors to give blood.
The next drive at the Asbury United Methodist Church is on February 16. The church hosts a drive each month. Read full story on East Bay Times here.
