Update-Traffic Alert: I-580 Snarled in Livermore From Two Big Rig Crashes
Traffic is fowled-up by a jackknifed big rig carrying chickens. (Yep, we did that on purpose.)

The California Highway Patrol reports that it has just canceled a sig-alert in Livermore for eastbound I-580.
A jackknifed big rig was reported at 2:43 a.m. It was initially blocking three lanes. All lanes were eventually closed to remove the truck. The road reopened at 5:29 a.m.
The CHP reports a separate jackknifed truck in the other direction. The CHP reports that the truck was carrying chickens, and they’re waiting for the fowl to be removed before truck and be righted and towed away.

The CHP reports that traffic was backed up all the way to the San Joaquin County line. At one point, the drive from Tracey to Livermore reportedly took four hours due to the wreck.
