Trent, Graham Keep Battling For Ohlone In Defeat

Renegades' offense surges in the second half of Coast-North opener at Las Positas

Antioch High graduate Kirmarje Trent scored 30 points for Ohlone College in an 89-72 loss to host Las Positas Friday in the Renegades’ Coast Conference-North Division opener.

Aidan Graham, of Brisbane, Australia, heated up in the second half and scored 20 points for the Renegades.

Ohlone, which played without injured sophomore standout Kai Winterling, a Menlo-Atherton High graduate, held it together after trailing by 28 points at halftime and by 30 early in the second half.

Trent’s sharp shooting made the difference after the intermission, including a stretch of three consecutive 3-pointers.

“He played pretty well the whole game,” Ohlone coach Steve Kline said of Trent via text message. “Graham got it going in the second half.”

Kline thought his team played too tentatively on offense in the first half.

The Ohlone women also fell to Las Positas 68-51 in the first game of the doubleheader. Jessica Titus paced the Renegades with 16 points and Bri Padilla added 14 points. Jaylah Davis worked hard inside and grabbed nine rebounds. Kailena Sandoval had eight rebounds.
