The women and children who come to Shepherd’s Gate are seeking to start a new life. They are able shop for free at the thrift store for clothes for job interviews and school as well as items to furnish a new place to live after graduation. Proceeds from the thrift store directly support the women and children at Shepherd’s Gate by providing care, safety, education and encouragement as they rebuild their lives. Proceeds will help local individuals and families fleeing domestic abuse, and help pay for an emergency shelter, counseling, legal support and transitional housing. The race will take place on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 3663 Pacific Avenue in Livermore, through parts of Arroyo Trail and Robertson Park. Walk-in registration starts at 7 a.m., and the race begins at 8 a.m. Participants are welcome to walk, and bring pets. Chip timing, finisher medals, age group awards, and refreshments will all be provided. On May 30th, we’re hosting a Texas Hold’em Poker Night in Livermore — a relaxed evening where you can enjoy good food, great company, and a little friendly competition, all while helping dogs in need.

This event is open to all skill levels — whether you’ve never played before or know your way around the table, you’ll fit right in.
Most importantly, every dollar raised goes toward the dogs we rescue and care for. From medical needs to daily supplies, your support directly impacts their journey to a safe and loving home.
