Trick-Or-Treat Trail: Livermore Police Halloween Photo Show
The PD amped up the spooktacular for trick-or-treaters, but one department went to infinity and beyond (hint, hint) to win the competition.
LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department hosted approximately 4,500 guests — 1,500 more than last year — at its fifth annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat Trail held Tuesday at its headquarters on South Livermore Avenue, according to officials.
Costumed visitors and their families picked up treats while strolling themed, decked-out office areas, put together by police-employee volunteers — an effort that took creativity this year to a new level.
But one swept the competition coming in as No. 1 with voters. And that was ... drum roll ... the "Toy Story" display from the dispatch center.

"'Toy Story' won and received an overwhelming number of votes for favorite theme," the agency said. "Toy Story received nearly a third of the total votes. 1,492 people voted, to include online, as well as in-person ballots. 'Toy Story' was truly a team effort by all, and we would like to commend Dispatcher Raquel who came up with the idea."
Other internal police departments, along with Horizons Family Counseling, hosted such walk-through areas as one with a rodeo-inspired, "Wild, Wild West" theme, complete with a zombie sheriff, the record department's Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Tinkerbell zone, the criminal investigation unit's "Gotham City" with heroes Batman and Robin, a "Peanuts"-themed "Great Pumpkin," with staff playing Charlie Brown, Lucy, Peppermint Patty and Marcy, and in the adminstrative wing of the chief of police was an outer-space tribute to "Guardians of the Galaxy."
