Two Razor Blades Found in Bag of Easter Grass: UPDATE
A Livermore woman made the frightening discovery while preparing Easter baskets using grass purchased from a local Dollar Tree store.

LIVERMORE, CA: A Livermore resident preparing Easter baskets was alarmed after discovering two small razor blades inside a bag of pink Easter grass recently purchased from the Dollar Tree store in Livermore.
Melissa Myhre took a photo of the blades and the bag of Easter grass and shared them with Livermore Patch.
"The bag was not punctured or torn other than where I had ripped the top of the bag open," Myhre said. "The blades were the breakaway type and looked like the size you would find in an x-acto knife."
Myhre says she immediately notified the police department and the store.
“Please be careful! I bought this Easter grass at the dollar store here in Livermore. I felt something sharp so I dumped it on the table. Found these two razor blades!"
A Dollar Tree employee told Patch that as soon as they were notified of the discovery, they checked every bag of Easter grass in the store and pulled the remaining bags from the shelves. According to the employee, the grass was made in China.
In a statement sent to Patch, Livermore police said Myhre contacted police but police determined that the incident did not look criminal in nature. Police advised her to contact the store for a possible recall.
The Dollar Tree is located at 1490 Railroad Ave. in Livermore.
