ValleyCare Auxiliary Gives Major Donation of $250,000

Pleasanton, CA – The ValleyCare Auxiliary recently presented ValleyCare Health System with a check in the amount of $250,000 for hospital equipment upgrades. The Auxiliary raises funds primarily through sales at the Thrift Shop located in downtown Livermore and through special fundraising promotions throughout the year. “This is a dedicated group of volunteers and the services they perform, as well as the funds they raise, provide us with an invaluable resource,” says Scott Gregerson, ValleyCare CEO.

Since the Auxiliary was formed in 1958, these volunteers have given over 1.6 million hours of volunteer time; donated over $6 million dollars to expand facilities, programs and services; and given 192 scholarships to local high school students entering college with plans for a medical career.

Consisting of approximately 380 members, the ValleyCare Auxiliary is committed to providing comfort and assistance to patients, visitors and staff. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways including: greeting visitors and patients at the information desks; working the Gift Shop and Thrift Shop; assisting at the ValleyCare Health Library and Cancer Center; transporting patients, delivering flowers and more.

“The ValleyCare Auxiliary has been an integral part of the Tri-Valley community for over a half century.
