Win a $100 Gift Card from the Livermore Public Library!

The Livermore Public Library is happy to announce a giveaway to promote its convenient SMS service: library notification through text messages. In addition to receiving library account-related notices by email or telephone, you may opt-in to receive notification about library items via text message. During September 2015, if you sign up for the Livermore Public Library’s text notification service you will be entered into a prize drawing to win one of three $100 gift cards (courtesy of Shoutbomb, LLC)! All you need is a library card and a mobile device capable of receiving text messages. Patrons who previously opted in will also be eligible to win.

Text messaging is one of the handiest ways to receive notification about your library account and it works on most cell phones. We proudly offer you this convenient, immediate solution for staying up-to-date with your account activity. Signing up for this free service entitles you to alerts about when your library holds are ready for pick up, if items are overdue, and special courtesy notices reminding when items are due. The service can even give you the option to renew some of your items by text.

Text message notifications are provided by Shoutbomb, LLC. While this is a free service offered by the Livermore Public Library, your cell phone plan’s standard text messaging rates still apply and you may incur per-message charges depending on your wireless plan. Please contact your cell phone service provider for more details about the cost of the text messages in your service plan.

To register for this free service, send a text message with the keyword SIGNUP to lpl@shoutbomb.com and the service will reply back with simple instructions to send your library card number. It’s that easy! Once your Shoutbomb registration has been completed, you will automatically get text notices about held items that are available for pick up, items that are due soon, and overdue items. A text will be sent only when activity on your library account triggers a message.
