LONG BEACH, CA — Homicide detectives are investigating a North Long Beach shooting that resulted in the death of a male adult on Saturday.
At about 8:45 p.m. on April 11, officers responded to the 6600 block of Cherry Avenue regarding a shooting and located a male adult victim with gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
His identity is being withheld pending the next of kin notification by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
The suspect(s) fled the scene before officers arrived, and the motive and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation, according to the LBPD.
