LONG BEACH, CA — Two men who died in separate incidents in Long Beach have been identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office.
A speeding motorcyclist who was killed when he crashed his bike into a parked vehicle was identified on Thursday as Jamaih Fortin, 23.
He was riding a 2013 Triumph eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway when he lost control of his bike and hit a parked vehicle on the south curb at about 5 p.m. Saturday, according to Long Beach Police.
Officers dispatched to the 1700 block of Pacific Coast Highway, near Seal Beach Boulevard, found Fortin. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
The other incident involves a 21-year-old man who was fatally wounded. Officers responding to a report of a shooting at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday in the 6600 block of Cherry Avenue located the victim, identified as Jaheim Harris by the Medical Examiner's office.
Harris was found with a gunshot wound to the upper body, Long Beach Police said.
Paramedics rushed Harris to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The suspect fled the location before police arrived.
