The event includes remarks from a Long Beach city official and culminates with the one-night-only debut of the revived Starlight Lounge and a date-night experience at the Verandah Grill.
2. Applications for Long Beach ADU building assistance program will open this summer (sigtrib.com) — Long Beach homeowners will soon be able to apply for the second round of the City’s Backyard Builders ADU loan program, offering up to $250,000 at 2% interest with deferred payments. Aimed at lower-income owner-occupants, the program helps with design, permits, construction and leasing, and will be run by the Long Beach Community Investment Company starting in summer 2026.
3. Man charged with attempted murder in stabbing of Long Beach police officer (nbclosangeles.com) — A Long Beach police officer is recovering after being stabbed in the head and torso during a confrontation outside the Billie Jean King Main Library downtown, and a Torrance man now faces attempted murder and other felony charges. Prosecutors say the attack was captured on video, federal air marshals helped subdue the suspect, and the case will move to arraignment at the Long Beach Courthouse in early May.
4.
