Man Dies After Falling Off Motorized Scooter In Long Beach: Police

The man was riding his scooter on the sidewalk when he lost control, fell off the vehicle and was injured, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man died Tuesday after losing control of his motorized scooter in Long Beach, according to police.

Officers responded around 8:30 a.m. to Seventh Street and Orizaba Avenue, where they found the man receiving medical attention from the Long Beach Fire Department, police said. He was taken to a local hospital and later died, according to police.

The man had been riding his motorized scooter west on Seventh Street on the sidewalk when he lost control, fell off the vehicle and was injured, police said. Speed, distracted driving and intoxication were not believed to be factors in the crash, according to police.
