LONG BEACH, CA — A man was shot Tuesday night in connection with a verbal altercation in Long Beach, according to police.
Officers responded around 9 p.m. to the 2000 block of Beverly Plaza for a call of an assault with a deadly weapon and arrived to find the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body that was not life-threatening, police said.
“The victim denied medical attention and was uncooperative with the investigation,” according to the Long Beach Police Department blotter. “The preliminary investigation indicates the incident stemmed from a verbal altercation between individuals known to each other.”
The shooter fled the scene before officers arrived, police said, and the investigation was ongoing.
