LONG BEACH, CA —A man was arrested Saturday after fighting with employees at a Long Beach business and allegedly trying to hit them with his vehicle.
Officers were called to a battery in progress that began about 3:45 p.m. Saturday in the 4500 block of Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach Police Department Sgt. Bradford Stein told City News Service.
The nature of the business was not disclosed.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that a male adult suspect got into a dispute with employees that escalated when he struck one of the female adult employees," Stein said. "A physical altercation between a male adult employee and the suspect ensued. After the altercation, the suspect got into his vehicle and attempted unsuccessfully to strike employees with his vehicle."
Officers found the man near the scene, the sergeant said. He was taken by ambulance with an officer to a hospital to be treated for a pre-existing condition unrelated to his arrest. His name and age were not immediately made public.
No serious injuries were reported, Stein said.
