LONG BEACH, CA — A mother of two is recovering after a violent robbery in downtown Long Beach left her with serious injuries.
The attack happened around 11 p.m. on June 18 near Aquarium Way after 34-year-old Jennifer Silva attended a world Cup watch party, KTLA reported.
Silva said she was repeatedly punched and beaten after someone suddenly ambushed her from behind and pulled at her purse.
Silva said there were crowds around here as the attack unfolded but no one tried to intervened.
"Nobody helped me. I got attacked violently and I don’t know why," she told KTLA.
Bloodied and disoriented, she wandered for about 30 minutes before police spotted her and helped.
Silva suffered cuts, abrasions, lost teeth, multiple fractures in her upper jaw, a fractured finger, and a dislocated wrist.
There was no description of the suspect who attacked her.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help Silva with her medical expenses and lost wages.
