1 Killed In Rollover Crash On 710 Freeway In Long Beach

The motorist was pronounced dead at the scene.

LONG BEACH, CA — One person was killed Monday when a black sedan hit the right shoulder wall of the Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach and they were ejected when the vehicle overturned.

The crash was first reported to the California Highway Patrol at 12:07 a.m. Monday and occurred on the southbound Long Beach Freeway at Long Beach Boulevard.

A witness told the CHP that the black sedan was being driven recklessly before the crash. The CHP was told someone was lying in lanes outside the crumpled car and not moving.

The ejected motorist was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.

Long Beach Animal Care Services was summoned to pick up a dog that had been in the car.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 12:46 a.m. shutting down all southbound lanes except the HOV lane north of Long Beach Boulevard.

All lanes were reopened and the SigAlert was canceled at 8:30 a.m. a.m., according to the CHP.
