Police Probe Whether Dead Man, Gunshot Victim And Vacated Crime Scene Are Connected

LONG BEACH, CA — Police are investigating a fatal weekend shooting in Long Beach, according to authorities.

Officers responded around 4:30 p.m. Saturday to the 1000 block of Myrtle Avenue for a call of shots and arrived to find evidence of gunfire but no suspects, police said. While on scene, they learned two men had arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds, according to police.

One of the men died of his injuries while the other suffered wounds that were not life-threatening, police said.

Detectives were working to determine if both men were related to the Myrtle Avenue incident, according to police.
