Armed Robber Shoots At Fleeing Victim As She Tries To Escape: Long Beach Police

The robber had approached a woman and demanded her purse, according to police, then fired at her as she fled.

LONG BEACH, CA — An armed robber shot at a woman on Monday night in Long Beach as the victim fled the scene, according to police.

Officers responded around 11:15 p.m. to a shooting near the 6600 block of Obispo Avenue, police said. The robber had approached a woman and demanded her purse, according to police.

As the woman fled on foot, the robber fired a shot at the victim, police said, adding the shooter had left the scene before officers arrived. No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
