On Sunday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. Patrick’s Day a la Mexicana is part of the Hotel Maya’s continued program of 12 Months of “Maya-achis,” a monthly mariachi brunch at the hotel’s famous, seaside restaurant Fuego which overlooks the Pacific Ocean, the Long Beach skyline, and the Queen Mary. The Latin American infused restaurant, known for one of the largest tequila selections in the region, is hosting 12 different mariachi bands – one for each month – throughout 2019.
Pedro Lopez y su Trio Casablanca, known for their romantic interpretations of the Bolero, the first Cuban musical and vocal fusion to win universal recognition, will perform mariachi-styled Irish folk songs as well as Latin standards. Lopez, internationally recognized for his unique style of playing the Requinto, a smaller, higher-pitched guitar, has recorded with artists such Selena and Pedro Fernandez.
Hotel Maya’s “Maya-achi” Sunday brunches will mark special occasions throughout the year such as Valentine’s Day, Long Beach LGBT Pride, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Hispanic Heritage Month, among others.

Next guests select an entrée from the server including Fuego Eggs Benedict, Pandulce French Toast, Steak Tampiqueno, Chilaquiles, Achiote Mojo Salmon, Citrus Braised Pork Carnitas, Ropa Vieja or Plantain Crusted Sea Bass.
