Boy Shot In Upper Body On 14th Street, Another Minor In Custody
The shooting took place in the 200 block of West 14th Street, according to Long Beach Police Sgt. Bradley Johnson.

LONG BEACH, CA – A boy was shot and wounded in his upper body and another boy was taken into custody in Long Beach Wednesday. Officers responded about 2 p.m. to a report of a shooting that had just occurred in the 200 block of West 14th Street, according to Long Beach Police Sgt. Bradley Johnson.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, police said, and responding officers spotted a boy getting into a vehicle in the 1500 block of Pacific Avenue.
"The vehicle was followed by officers and stopped in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Locust Avenue," Johnson said. "The suspect was subsequently taken into custody without incident, and a gun was recovered from inside the vehicle."

Police did not immediately report the age of the suspect or the victim.
