Legendary Oscar-winning songwriter, composer, singer and actor Paul Williams to share stories behind some of music’s most beloved songs

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Christian Outreach in Action (COA) will host Storytellers Tea with Paul Williams: An Uplifting Afternoon with the Legendary Oscar-Winning Songwriter & Entertainer on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Cottonwood Church, 4505 Katella Ave., Los Alamitos, CA 90720.

Guests will enjoy an elegant afternoon of tea, savory hors d’oeuvres, a lively silent auction and an intimate storytelling experience with one of Hollywood’s most memorable personalities.

Paul Williams is the award-winning songwriter behind songs that have become part of the soundtrack of generations, including the Carpenters’ “We’ve Only Just Begun” and “Rainy Days and Mondays,” “The Rainbow Connection” from The Muppet Movie, and “Evergreen” from A Star Is Born. Williams won an Academy Award for “Evergreen,” and his remarkable career has earned him Grammy Awards, Golden Globe recognition and induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Beyond songwriting, Williams is a celebrated composer, singer, actor and entertainer, with a career spanning music, film and television. His songs have been performed and recorded by some of the biggest names in music, while his acting career includes his memorable role as Little Enos Burdette in Smokey and the Bandit.

At Storytellers Tea, Williams will take guests behind the scenes of his extraordinary career, sharing stories, memories and insights from a lifetime spent creating music and working in Hollywood.

Includes afternoon tea, savory hors d’oeuvres and access to the silent auction.

PLATINUM — $150

The exclusive “Meet. Capture. Remember.” experience includes a meet & greet and photo opportunity with Paul Williams, priority seating, afternoon tea, savory hors d’oeuvres and access to the silent auction.

Proceeds from Storytellers Tea will benefit Christian Outreach in Action, a Long Beach nonprofit that has served neighbors in need for more than 40 years. COA provides essential resources including daily hot meals, food assistance, diapers, clothing, hygiene supplies, furniture and household goods, holiday assistance and other basic necessities to individuals and families throughout the community.

“We’re thrilled to bring an artist of Paul Williams’ caliber to our community,” said Christian Outreach in Action. “This event gives our guests the opportunity to enjoy an extraordinary afternoon while helping provide essential resources to people in need.”
