LONG BEACH, CA – A carjacking suspect was taken into custody after allegedly shooting at officers in a standoff Wednesday evening in Long Beach.
The man allegedly shot at officers then carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint, leading police on a short chase that ended just before 11 p.m. in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Seventh Street, according to reports from the scene.
The suspect refused to exit the vehicle and the standoff continued into late Wednesday night.

NBC4 reported about 11:45 p.m. that authorities used a police dog to take the suspect into custody.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
