The Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce announces Trini Jimenez as Chair-Elect of the Board for 2023-2024

The Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced Trini Jimenez as the new Chair-elect of the Board for 2023-2024.
Jimenez currently serves on the Chamber’s Board of Directors and is Vice Chair of Economic Development on the Leadership Cabinet.
“This is a great honor to be selected as the Chair-elect of the Board for the Chamber’s new year. The time I’ve spent as a Chamber officer and member of the Leadership Cabinet has prepared me to serve as Board Chair,” said Jimenez. “I’m passionate about business in Long Beach and look forward to working with Chamber members, committees and staff to accomplish our mission and to best serve our business partners and the community.”

Jimenez is Vice President of Public Affairs for the Watson Land Company. He works with elected officials and government agencies at the local and state level, implementing public affairs and community relations strategies that are consistent with protecting the company’s interests. Jimenez monitors and tracks legislative and regulatory issues impacting the company and develops strategies driving public policy priorities.
“Trini is a great selection to assist our organization and the board to achieve its goals in the coming years as Chair-elect,” said Jeremy Harris, President and CEO of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “He is well-versed in business, government relations and public affairs, and will be able to meet the challenges and exceed the expectations for the leadership position in these critical years ahead.”

Prior to Watson Land Company, Jimenez served as Director of Government Affairs for the BNSF Railway Company with responsibility for the Southern California region. Before working in the field of government affairs, he practiced law as an attorney with the firm of Burke, Williams and Sorensen in Los Angeles.
“I look forward to putting my experience in various areas of government affairs and business acumen to the benefit of the Long Beach business community,” added Jimenez.
Jimenez also serves on the boards of several organizations including Public Affairs Council of the California Chamber of Commerce, California Taxpayers Association (CalTax), L.A. County Business Federation (BizFed) and Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. He received his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach.
