Toddler Killed, 2 People Injured When Car Backs Into Them In Long Beach: Report
A driver attempting to reverse drove into three people sitting in front of their home, killing a child Monday morning, police say.

LONG BEACH, CA -- A driver attempting to reverse their car backed into three people in front of an apartment complex, killing a toddler Monday morning, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
Just before 11:30 am, police received calls to respond to the 400 block of Maine Avenue. Upon arrival, they found that three people -- two small children and an adult woman -- who had been struck by the SUV in front of their apartment complex, and were badly injured.

Responding officers rushed the badly injured girl to a hospital where she died, Lt. John Hotchkiss of the Long Beach Police Department told OnScene TV.
The other two people were transported to an area hospital by paramedics. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities, police said.
