City Of Long Beach:City Of Long Beach Will Begin Vaccinating Residents Ages 50 Years And Older Starting Today

Residents ages 50 years and older who had previously registered with VaxLB will be contacted by the Health Department directly. My Turn will begin scheduling appointments for those 50 and older on April 1. Residents and workers in this category who had not registered with VaxLB may email COVID19Vaccine@longbeach.gov, call 562.570.4636 or receive a vaccine without an appointment at the Long Beach Convention Center COVID-19 vaccine site from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Approximately 500 appointments will be available each day; if all walk-up appointments for that day are taken, people will be offered a future appointment. People without appointments should follow signs for walk-up, which is ADA accessible.

Individuals must be able to prove they meet the eligibility requirement and live or work in Long Beach. Proof of residency documentation could include a utility bill with their address or a driver’s license. Work ID, pay stub or letter of employment on official letterhead are acceptable as proof of employment. More information on eligibility and documentation can be found at longbeach.gov/VaxLB.

Residents who are homebound and interested in requesting a home appointment may visit the City’s website to complete a request form or call 562.570.INFO (4636) for assistance. Health Department staff will screen requests and verify eligibility before scheduling an appointment for at-home services. Individuals with additional questions may email COVID19Vaccine@longbeach.gov. All residents, including those who have received COVID-19 vaccinations, are encouraged to continue practicing all health and safety protocols, including wearing face coverings and maintaining proper physical distance from others.

To date, there have been 51,902 COVID-19 cases in Long Beach and 907 people have died from the virus. More than 184,000 vaccines have been administered, which includes approximately 121,500 first doses and 62,800 second doses. All vaccines are administered free of charge and have been provided directly by the federal government.
