Compton Man Pleads No Contest To Stabbing Girlfriend In Hospital

The man punched his girlfriend and stabbed her on her hands, arms and neck while visiting her at St. Mary Medical Center.

LONG BEACH, CA – A Compton man pleaded no contest Wednesday to attacking his girlfriend with a knife while she was a patient in a Long Beach hospital. Lorenzo Darnell Moss Jr., 30, is facing 17 years in state prison for his no contest plea to a felony count of injuring his girlfriend, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Moss punched his girlfriend and stabbed her on her hands, arms and neck while visiting her at St. Mary Medical Center on March 28, according to Deputy District Attorney Kelly Kelley.

Moss fled when the woman began screaming. Police followed a blood trail and arrested him a short distance from the hospital, the prosecutor said.

Moss, who has remained behind bars since his arrest, is due back in a Long Beach courtroom on Oct. 16 for sentencing.
