County Renews $20,000 Rewards for Information in 2 SGV Fatal Shootings

Supervisor Michael Antonovich recommended extending the rewards hoping to find the killers of Christopher Walker and Robert Calderon.

PASADENA, CA — The Board of Supervisors renewed two $20,000 rewards Tuesday for information leading to the gunmen responsible for unrelated fatal shootings in Altadena and Pasadena.

Supervisor Michael Antonovich recommended extending the rewards, both of which are due to expire July 3, hoping to find the killers of Christopher Walker and Robert Calderon. The rewards will now be available for at least 90 days more.

On Oct. 30, 2014, Walker was sitting on a patio outside Fair Oaks Burger at 2560 N. Fair Oaks Ave. in Altadena, waiting for his order, when a man got out of a car and shot him multiple times.

Walker, a 26-year-old father of two daughters, was pronounced dead at Huntington Memorial Hospital.

A witness told deputies the shooter drove off in a gray, four-door sedan.

Walker's mother, Ursula Denise Walker, posted a commentary about her son's death on The Homicide Report section of the Los Angeles Times website last October.

"Almost a year has passed as we wait for the responsible person or persons to be arrested," she wrote. "We wait for police updates. We wait for someone from our community to come forward with information about a crime that occurred in broad daylight."

She said her son was a Boy Scout, involved in sports and attended a private school, but nevertheless joined a neighborhood gang at an early age. Despite family intervention, he became a juvenile offender, but then turned his life around at 19, found a steady job and was a loving father, she said.

Anyone with information about his killing was asked to call sheriff's homicide Sgts. Chaffey Shepherd or Howard Cooper at (323) 890-5500.

On Dec. 18, Pasadena police responding to a report of shots fired found the body of 27-year-old Robert Calderon lying on the parkway in the 600 block of North Mentor Avenue. The Altadena resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

The night after Calderon was killed, as family and friends gathered at the shooting location near a shrine of candles, flowers and photos, shots were fired into the crowd. One woman was stuck by a bullet, but survived.

Anyone with information about Calderon's shooting was asked to call Pasadena police Detective Tim Bundy at (626) 744-3861.

Callers with information about either crime may stay anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477 (TIPS).
