Three Hospitalized After Fire In Downtown Long Beach

Multiple units were dispatched to the corner of Atlantic Avenue as firefighters battled a residential fire in a sixth-story unit.

LONG BEACH, CA — Three people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a residential high-rise fire in Downtown Long Beach Friday morning, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.

Firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire coming from one unit on the sixth floor, according to LBFD. The fire was reported at 11:29 a.m. at 375 Atlantic Ave. and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.

A man in his 30s was taken to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, and two other people were transported for hospital treatment of unspecified injuries, the LBFD reported.

According to a Tweet from LBFD, the cause of the fire is unknown, but investigators are on the scene according to LBFD.
