Elderly Man Struck, Killed in Long Beach
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police in the investigation, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA -- A man was fatally injured when he was struck by a vehicle on a Long Beach street, authorities said Sunday.
The crash took place about 5:50 p.m. Saturday, at the intersection of 7th Street and Olive Avenue, Long Beach police Lt. Ryan LeBaron said.
The elderly man was transported to Long Beach Hospital, where he later died, according to LB police. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

According to police, the pedestrian moved off the southwest corner of 7th Street into the path of 2011 Nissan that was heading east on 7th Street and had the right-a-way at the light, according to police.
The driver had no time to stop and hit the man, police said. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police in the investigation, LeBaron said.
