First Bank Keep On Helping Teens Make Local College Visits
Bixby Knolls branch makes $2,500 donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach program

To support college visits for teen-agers, First Bank’s Bixby Knolls branch (4040 Atlantic Avenue) in Long Beach, California recently made a $2,500 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach “Diplomas 2 Degrees” program.
The First Bank donation will enable up to 40 high school students in the program to make four to five visits to local colleges.
First Bank Bixby Knolls Senior Branch Manager Kris Allen and First Bank Regional Manager Robert Renteria presented the donation to Don Rodriguez, Chief Executive Officer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach.

The “Diplomas 2 Degrees” program is a college readiness program that provides a range of services to guide students as they work toward high school graduation and prepare for post-secondary education and career success.
Comprised of 13 distinct facilities across the city, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach has been helping underprivileged youth reach their full personal and academic potential since 1939.
