Fuego Goes To Guatemala For Next Latin American Brunch Tour Stop On October 29
Executive Chef Victor Juarez takes Fuego guests on a monthly culinary tour through Latin America in 2017

Fuego goes to Guatemala for the next stop on its 12-country Latin American brunch tour on Sunday, October 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fuego’s authentic Guatemalan dishes will be accentuated by live Latin jazz music with The Sounds of Guatemala throughout brunch.
Fuego guests looking for an extended Guatemala experience will also enjoy the daily offerings of Fuego’s Guatemalan entree “Chicharron” and the featured Guatemalan dessert “Arroz con Leche.” The Guatemalan drink of the month is “Zacapa Rum Punch” with Zacapa rum and fresh exotic juices.
Fuego, the modern, Latin infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge, offers a unique seaside setting featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating inside and on the patio area. Fuego’s stunning open-air views include the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach skyline and Queen Mary.

“Guests can go to Guatemala without ever leaving Long Beach each day in October and especially on Sunday, October 29 during our Guatemalan brunch,” said Jeff Dieter, Director of Restaurants at Hotel Maya - a DoubleTree by Hilton. “Great Guatemalan food and drinks are topped off by the sensational Sounds of Guatemala, which is all set seaside in Fuego’s waterfront patio.”
The Latin American Brunch series continues to Peru on November 19 and Nicaragua on December 17. The Latin American Brunch series’ first nine stops were Cuba in January, Argentina in February, Costa Rica in March, Colombia in April, Mexico in May, El Salvador in June, Brazil in July, Chile in August and Venezuela in September.

For October, Executive Chef Juarez has prepared a culinary tour stop in Guatemala that begins with sensational Salads featuring Piloyada, Ensalada Mixta, Tuna Salad, Chipotle Caesar Salad and Chicken Salad, along with an antipasto platter, domestic and imported cheese display, smoked salmon and accompaniments, sliced fresh fruit platter, shrimp cocktail and cocktail mixto.
Enjoy Fuego’s Street Fair selection of dobladas with picadillo y queso, pork tamales, pickled cabbage - curtido, and fresh homemade salsas, along with horchata and tamarindo.
Guatemalan Brunch entrees are ordered from the server and offer a choice of Fuego Eggs Benedict, with two poached eggs, sautéed spinach, applewood smoked bacon, English muffins, hollandaise sauce and oven-roasted tomato; Pan Dulce French Toast, with strawberry cream stacked brioche, toasted candied pecans, maple syrup and whipped cream; Hilachas, with Guatemalan shredded flank steak, herbed tomatillo sauce, lemon rice and refried beans; Jocón, Guatemalan braised chicken in natural juices, with braised bone-in chicken, herbs, green tomatoes, chayote and steamed rice; Camarones a la Parrilla, with grilled jumbo gulf shrimp, chili de arbol sofrito and lemon rice; Picadillo Stuffed Chile Relleno, with Anaheim chile stuffed with ground beef casserole, spicy tomato sauce and lemon rice; Mojarra Frita, with deep-fried talapia, pickled green cabbage and lemon rice; or Grilled Rock Lobster Tail, with 12-ounce Maine lobster tail, garlic lemon butter sauce, lemon rice, and Brussels sprouts escabeche - for an additional $10.
A variety of delicious Guatemalan desserts include an assortment of mini pastries, tres leches cake, arroz con leche, coconut rum flan and caramel sauce, vanilla raisin bread pudding, pineapple empanadas, pineapple upside-down cake and vanilla meringue cookies.
The Latin American Brunch Series – Guatemala costs $55.00 per adult and children, 13 and older; $27.00 for children, 12 and under; kids 5 and under feast for free; plus tax and gratuity.
