Fuego Stops Off In Peru For Next Latin American Brunch On Nov. 19

Fuego stops off in Peru on its 12-country Latin American brunch tour on Sunday, November 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fuego’s authentic Peruvian dishes will be accentuated by live Latin jazz music with The Sounds of Peru throughout brunch.

Guests looking for an extended Peruvian experience will also enjoy the daily offerings of Fuego’s Peruvian entree “Lomo Saltado” and the featured Peruvian dessert “Arroz con Leche.” The Peruvian drink of the month is “Pisco Sour” with Kappa Pisco from Peru, lemon, egg white, simple syrup and bitters.

Fuego, the modern, Latin infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge, offers a unique seaside setting featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating inside and on the patio area. Fuego’s stunning open-air views include the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach skyline and Queen Mary.

“As we head toward our final two destinations in Fuego’s Latin American Brunch Tour, Peru is a delicious stop on this culinary journey on November 19,” said Jeff Dieter, Director of Restaurants at Hotel Maya - a DoubleTree by Hilton. “The spicy flavors and sweet sounds of Peru can be enjoyed on Fuego’s waterfront patio.”

The Latin American Brunch series makes its last stop on the 12-month journey in Nicaragua on December 17. The Latin American Brunch series’ first ten stops were Cuba in January, Argentina in February, Costa Rica in March, Colombia in April, Mexico in May, El Salvador in June, Brazil in July, Chile in August, Venezuela in September and Guatemala in October.

For November, Executive Chef Juarez has prepared a culinary tour stop in Peru that begins with sensational Salads featuring Quinoa with dried fruit and walnut dressing, Hearts of Palm Salad, Tiradito de Albacore, Pappa a la Huancaïna and Quinoa Capresse, along with antipasto, domestic and imported cheeses, and sliced fresh fruits.

Enjoy Fuego’s Peruvian Ceviche selection of Halibut with rocoto ponzu, Ceviche Mixto and Choritos a la Chalaca, aka Mussels.

Peruvian Brunch entrees are ordered from the server and offer a choice of Fuego Eggs Benedict with two poached eggs, sautéed spinach, applewood smoked bacon, English muffins, hollandaise, broiled tomato and hash browns; Pandulce French Toast with strawberry cream stacked brioche, toasted candied pecans, maple syrup and whipped cream; Crispy Chicken and Eggs with fried chicken breast, criolla sauce, poached eggs, rocoto aïoli and fried potatoes; Aji de Gallina with shredded chicken, walnuts, parmesan cheese, steamed potatoes, olives, boiled egg and steamed white rice; Lomo Saltado with wok tri tip, tomatoes, onions, fried potatoes, aji chili pepper and soya sauce; Seco de Carne with spiced morsels of filet mignon, cilantro sauce and white bean casserole; Arroz Con Mariscos with wok shrimp, mussels, scallops, squid, and saffron rice; or Lobster a las Brazas with a 12-ounce lobster tail, aji verde garlic sauce, steamed white rice, and Peruvian beans - for an additional $10.

A variety of delicious Peruvian desserts include an assortment of mini breakfast pastries, tres leches cake, arroz con leche, coconut rum flan with caramel sauce, along with assorted mini cakes, vanilla raisin bread pudding, masamorra morada and merinque cookies.

The Latin American Brunch Series – Peru costs $55.00 per adult and children, 13 and older; $25.00 for children, 12 and under; kids 5 and under feast for free; plus tax and gratuity.
